With deep sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Angelica Barbour, 31, of Brattleboro, Vermont, who died on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center due to a significant head injury. Her death remains under investigation, with the official cause listed as blunt force trauma to the head and neck, and the manner of death currently pending, according to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington.
Angelica was a vibrant and loving woman who touched the lives of many with her warmth, resilience, and generous heart. Known for her quick wit, compassionate nature, and unwavering loyalty to friends and family, she brought light and laughter to even the most difficult days.
A native of Vermont, Angelica loved the beauty of the Green Mountains, quiet moments in nature, and the sense of community she found in the places she called home. She had a passion for helping others and was deeply loved by those lucky enough to know her.
Angelica’s death occurred following an incident at a residence on Vermont Route 11 near Thompsonburg Road in Londonderry. Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding her passing. Authorities confirm that a person of interest taken into custody has since been released.
As the investigation continues, her family and friends ask for privacy and peace to mourn and remember Angelica for the bright and caring soul she was.
