Urbana Teen, Decoven Stephens, Arrested in Connection with Weekend Shooting
URBANA, Ill. An 18-year-old Urbana resident, Decoven Stephens, has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that left one person seriously injured on Saturday, according to the University of Illinois Police Department.
Authorities confirmed that Stephens has been charged with attempted first-degree murder following the incident that took place over the weekend. Police reports indicate that officers responded promptly to the scene after receiving emergency calls about gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, one victim was found with serious injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
Following an intensive investigation, law enforcement officers were able to identify Stephens as the primary suspect. He was later taken into custody without further incident.
