MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A well-known Metro Detroit businessman with deep roots in the Dearborn community was shot Tuesday morning in what authorities are describing as a targeted attack.
The victim has been identified as **Eddie Jawad**, a prominent Arab American entrepreneur who owns several local businesses, including multiple **Pit Stop gas stations** across Metro Detroit.
The incident occurred around **10:15 a.m.** at Jawad’s mansion near **24 Mile and Foss Roads** in Macomb Township. Deputies with the **Macomb County Sheriff’s Office** responded to reports of gunfire at the residence.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Jawad suffering from gunshot wounds**. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in **stable condition**, authorities said.
Investigators believe the shooting was **not random** and are treating it as a **targeted attack**. A **dark-colored SUV** was seen fleeing the area eastbound on **24 Mile Road from Wellington Valley Drive** immediately after the incident, according to witnesses.
Jawad is well known throughout Dearborn and the wider Metro Detroit region for his entrepreneurial success and community involvement.
