It is with profound sorrow that we remember Eemeli Peltonen, a dedicated and promising Member of Parliament in Finland’s Social Democratic Party, who tragically passed away at the age of 30 on 19 August 2025.
A Life of Service and Promise
Born on 15 September 1994 in Kerava, Peltonen embarked on a remarkable political path from a young age. Elected to the municipal council of Järvenpää at just 18, he quickly rose to become the youngest-ever chairman of the city council and later the city board. He served in council leadership roles with insight, grace, and a deep commitment to public service.
In 2023, Peltonen was elected as a first-term MP representing Uusimaa in the Finnish Parliament. His work in national politics reflected a compassionate, thoughtful approach, earning respect across party lines. Colleagues remember him for his integrity and inclusive leadership.
