TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Authorities are responding to reports of a shooting on the campus of Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee, prompting a large law enforcement presence and an emergency lockdown of nearby buildings.

According to early reports, multiple 911 calls came in around 11:50 a.m. alerting police to an active shootersituation. Officers from the FSU Police Department, the Tallahassee Police Department, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement quickly converged on the scene.

University officials confirmed that the situation was brought under control shortly.

Investigators are now working to determine the motive behind the shooting and the sequence of events that unfolded. Police are reviewing security footage, interviewing witnesses, and collecting evidence from the scene.
