Gustavo Adolfo Accident – Family members have identified the two drivers who tragically lost their lives in a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning on the Florida Turnpike in Southwest Miami-Dade as Gabriel Sequeira and 23-year-old Gustavo Adolfo.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the devastating collision occurred around 4 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Bird Road. Authorities say a blue Honda traveling the wrong way struck a silver Toyota head-on. Moments later, a secondary crash involving a white Toyota and an FHP cruiser occurred while troopers were responding to the scene. Fortunately, the trooper was outside the vehicle and was not injured.
Both Gabriel and Gustavo were pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional people were transported to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital with serious injuries.
Loved ones have since shared heartfelt tributes on GoFundMe pages set up in their memory. The organizer of Gabriel Sequeira’s page described the loss as “an unimaginable tragedy — the sudden loss of her beloved son, Gabriel, in a devastating car accident.”
Gustavo Adolfo’s family remembered him as “pure joy,” a young man who “radiated light, kindness, and love” wherever he went.
The loss of both men has left a deep impact on their families, friends, and community, who are now rallying together to honor their lives and support their loved ones through this unimaginable grief.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
