SEATTLE — A large police and medic presence flooded Golden Gardens on Saturday after a man was shot multiple times in the torso.
Witnesses reported hearing gunfire before seeing emergency units rush into the area. According to accounts from the scene, more than 10 police vehicles responded, with officers quickly moving in to confront a suspected shooter who was later held at gunpoint.
The victim, a man who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, was treated by medics on-site before being transported to a hospital. His current condition has not yet been released.
The normally quiet park was thrown into chaos as authorities blocked off portions of the area and urged people nearby to stay clear while the investigation unfolded.
Seattle Police have not yet released further information about the suspect’s identity, potential motives, or whether the shooting was targeted.
