It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of two Florida A&M University graduates, Jayden Flemming and Ronnie Burns, who tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Texas on August 2, 2025.
Jayden Flemming, a first-generation college graduate, was a proud alum of FAMU’s School of Business and Industry. Jayden’s journey was characterized by determination, academic excellence, and an unwavering commitment to forging new paths not only for themselves but also as an inspiration to their family and community. They were on the cusp of an exciting new chapter—preparing to begin a master’s program in Global Business Development at Kempten University of Applied Sciences in Germany, a competitive international program perfectly aligned with their long-term aspirations in international business, consulting, and global strategy.
Jayden is remembered for their intellect, resilience, and boundless ambition. As a trailblazer and role model, they lifted those around them, offering hope and a tangible example of what first-generation students can achieve.
Ronnie Burns, also a proud Rattler and recent FAMU graduate, was a vibrant presence in campus life, known among peers for their warmth, collaborative spirit, and leadership. Ronnie’s exact discipline and career plans reflected their deep commitment to using their education to effect positive change—whether in business, community service, or beyond.
Together, Jayden and Ronnie embodied the spirit of FAMU: academic excellence, leadership, and service. Their loss is deeply felt by family, friends, and the FAMU community, who join in grief and remembrance.
