Madisonville Shooting Today: Person Shot by Police During Welfare Check, Investigation Underway
Madisonville, Cincinnati, Ohio — October 28, 2025 : A serious shooting incident occurred this afternoon in Madisonville, when Cincinnati police officers responding to a welfare check discharged their weapons, resulting in one person being shot and hospitalized. What Happened
Around 2:00 p.m., officers accompanied VA social workers to a residence on Haley Avenue near Bramble Park in Madisonville for a welfare check.
Upon arrival, they encountered a person who brandished a weapon. According to Interim Police Chief Adam Hennie, officers fired in response to the threat.
The individual was struck and taken to a local hospital. Officials report the person is expected to survive.
Cincinnati Police have launched an internal investigation into the shooting. A media staging area has been established near the scene.
