MPD Investigates Shooting in Navy Yard
Washington, D.C. October 2, 2025 : The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating after a man was shot in the Navy Yard on Thursday evening.
Police say officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1100 block of South Capitol Street SE, where they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital conscious and breathing, police added.
Authorities have not yet released information about a suspect or motive, and the investigation remains ongoing. MPD is urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward as detectives continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
