Paul Gorcyca Michigan Obtuary – Paul Stanley Gorcyca, TV News Anchor Karen Drew Husband Has Died

Paul Stanley “Goose” Gorcyc Obituary Cause of Death: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of*Paul Stanley Gorcyca, former husband of journalist **Karen Drew**, who departed this life on September 15, 2025. He was 61.

Born on December 25, 1963, Paul was often described as a “Christmas gift” to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, S. Gerald Gorcyca, and is survived by his mother, Mary Jo Gorcyca.

He is survived by his daughters, Madison and Morgan, whom he shared with Karen Drew. His pride and joy in fatherhood were well known among those close to him.

Paul was educated at St. Regis and attended Brother Rice High School, where he was active in both baseball and basketball until  He later coached 7th and 8th grade basketball at St. Regis, leading a team to a championship.

He went on to attend Michigan State University, earning a degree in Materials and Logistics Management from the business school. ([Tribute Archive][1]) From there, he built a distinguished career in the automotive industry, holding roles in purchasing, sales, and leadership. Among his positions were Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Venture Industries (formerly Collins & Aikman), President of the South Business Unit at Plastech, and Director of New Business Development at Piston Group. Paul was widely known for his warmth, humor, and generous spirit. He was a diehard Michigan State Spartans fan—“Go Green, Go White” was a motto he carried proudly and passed on to his daughters.  He loved sports in all its forms, from basketball and hockey to skiing and—above all—golf, which he embraced as a lifelong passion.

He delighted in hosting family gatherings, including annual Polish sausage-making events, and was known to break into spontaneous Irish jigs on St. Patrick’s Day. ([Tribute Archive][1]) His ability to bring people together with kindness and laughter touched many.

Visitation will be held on **Tuesday, September 23, 2025**, from **3:00 to 7:00 PM** at A.J. Desmond & Sons, Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel, located at 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak (between 13-14 Mile).

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for **Wednesday, September 24, 2025**, at **11:00 AM**, at **St. Regis Catholic Church**, 3695 Lincoln Drive, Bloomfield Hills. Visitation at the church begins at **10:30 AM**. ([A.J. Desmond & Sons][2])

Paul Stanley Gorcyca will be remembered as a devoted father, a loving friend, and a man whose quiet generosity and zest for life left a lasting imprint on all who knew him. He is deeply missed, yet his spirit lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
