Two Dead in Early Morning Motorcycle Crash on MacDade Boulevard in Delaware County

Authorities in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, are investigating a tragic motorcycle crash that claimed two lives early Sunday morning. The incident occurred just before 4 a.m. on the 1900 block of East MacDade Boulevard in Folsom, Ridley Township, according to local police reports.

Investigators said two motorcycles were traveling eastbound on MacDade Boulevard when they collided, resulting in a devastating crash. William Getty, who was operating one of the motorcycles, and his passenger, Katrina Pennell, both died at the scene. Police confirmed that neither was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Preliminary findings suggest that speed was a contributing factor in the crash. The driver of the second motorcycle sustained a minor leg injury and was treated at the scene. Police added that both riders were traveling together to the same destination prior to the collision.

Emergency responders quickly secured the area, and traffic was temporarily diverted as investigators examined the scene. The Ridley Township Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the exact cause and contributing factors.

This tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of motorcycle safety, particularly the use of helmets and adherence to speed limits. Authorities are urging all riders to exercise caution and prioritize safety on the road.
